This beautiful translucent green stone is a type of quartz with platy mineral inclusions, such as fuchsite that creates this green color, and mica which makes it shimmer. This stone is usually mainly found in Brazil, China and India. Nevertheless, the block that was used to carve these pieces has been found by complete chance in Switzerland, probably quite far from its mother rock. How it came there remains a mystery. This stone is fairly solid, which makes it pleasant to work with.
