Gathered in a single gallery, granites and clusters are two rock types composed out of several elements which can be seen with the naked eye.

Extremely common, granite is famous for its robustness. Nevertheless, on a jewel scale, its granulated structure makes it tricky to work with. About 500 million years old, granites are composed of a great variety of minerals, amongst the most common on earth, such as quartz, feldspar and mica. Some chemical elements add a coloration to the stone, such as potassium creating pink granite.

Sedimentary stones (clusters) are rocks composed of several elements, soldered together throughout the ages thanks to geological processes such as erosion and tectonics. To cut a cluster is like opening a book whose title would have worn out : each and every stone holds the story of its origins, the climate and landscapes that watched its birth. Enjoy !
